Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee (preferably Greek or Nescafe)
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar (adjust to your desired sweetness)
  • Cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Milk (optional)
  • Coffee creamer (optional)

About the dish:

Greek frappe is a popular iced coffee drink in Greece, known for its frothy texture and refreshing taste. Here's a recipe for the best Greek frappe:

Recipe:

In a tall glass or a shaker, combine the instant coffee and sugar.

Add a small amount of cold water, just enough to moisten the coffee and sugar mixture.

Using a frappe mixer (a handheld electric mixer) or a shaker, vigorously mix the coffee, sugar, and water until it becomes a thick, frothy consistency. This usually takes about 20-30 seconds of vigorous mixing.

Fill the glass with ice cubes, leaving some room at the top.

Pour cold water over the ice cubes, filling the glass about 3/4 full.

Stir the mixture gently to combine the frothy coffee with the water.

Optional: If you prefer a creamier frappe, you can add milk or coffee creamer to taste. Start with a small amount and adjust according to your preference.

Serve the Greek frappe with a straw and enjoy it immediately.

Greek frappe is a delightful and refreshing beverage, perfect for hot summer days or anytime you crave a cool caffeine boost. It is commonly enjoyed as a morning pick-me-up or as an afternoon treat. You can also customize it by adding flavored syrups or whipped cream as desired.
